OUR BREEDERS

We only keep one breeding Quad on our Homestead, and attempt to maintain a quality purebred specimen for continuing this purebred line.

We currently are holding 4 breeders, two Bucks and two Does. We choose to breed our rabbits once per year, then sell the Quad as experienced breeders. We then select a new Quad from their litters, and hold them until old enough to breed. This is not done for volume production, but as a means of having available rabbits for ramping up production in case of food shortages. The periodic sale of rabbit breeders and extra kits are solely for offsetting food costs.

Genetically, this is a common practice for rabbit breeders. While these rabbits are closely related, we do not breed littermates from the same litter. Even that is acceptable for enhancing genetic traits, but it is not recommended.

Current Breeders:

GF4 (Doe)

GF5 (Doe)

GF6 (Buck)

GF7 (Buck)
